THE GOLLAN PRIZE FOR AUSTRALIAN LABOUR HISTORY

The Gollan Prize was established in 2003 in honour of Robin and Daphne Gollan, founding members of the Australian Society for the Study of Labour History and amongst the first contributors to our journal. It is awarded on a biannual basis.

The Prize is intended to foster the work of new scholars embarking on their careers as labour historians. As such it is awarded to post-graduate students (of any age) whose work is published in the journal. People who have completed their honours or post-graduate degree are also eligible, providing their article is accepted for publication within two years of the completion of their thesis. Prize winners must also be (or become) subscribers to the journal. Overseas as well as Australian entries are welcome.

The Prize consists of a citation and a contribution of up to $600 towards expenses relating to attendance at the biannual conference of the Society where the citation will be read and presented. The responsibility for choosing the winning article and drafting the citation rests with the journal's editorial working party who then confer with further referees where appropriate.
